artists run in the family

adessa and jexten really do love to be outside, so when summer comes, that's where we are most of the time. i think most are. this is just another fun summertime activity that began when adessa was almost 2. only in the beginning, it was just water and she painted all over the house. no big deal, it was just water, but to her, it was "deffinitely her height of style" and "so chic". as she grew, so did her immagination and exploration of different mediums of art. it's not just sidwalk chalk anymore people. now it's sidewalk PAINT! i think they actually make that now, but i know who invented it. she's always been a trendsetter, and i'm sure will always be the one and only ADESSA DAWN. jexten is always the first to back her up, no matter what she is doing, even if it leads to trouble. and if there is an opportunity to take the trouble to the next level, you know he will! and laugh about it all the while. these two little monkeys sure do keep me busy. i never know what pranks they're going to pull, or who they're going to pull them on. but you guessed it, usually the joke's on me! grandpa gordon really likes having these two corkers around, keeps him laughing and feeling young. i guess they leave their little messy handprints on everyone's heart. adessa once told me that she feels like a parade when we walk down the hall from sacrament meeting to the primary room because everyone waves at her, or stops to comment about something that has happened during that week! i sure am happy to be their mom, however hard it may seem sometimes, i wouldn't trade it for anything! motherhood truly is the greatest calling!
