caught chatting with the cute boy from the other team. *sigh* you know, adessa really surprised me. for only wanting to pick the grass, chase the butterflies, and scatter pine needles all over the field yesterday at practice, she sure did dig in and play REALLY well. not that i thought she wouldn't be good at it. she just didn't seem interested yesterday at practice. she sure is full of surprises! grandma joan , grandpa gordon, jill ,james, whitney (and her latest) all showed up to sit in the grass and cheer our little adessa dawn on in her first game ever!! grandma brough rice crispy treats, we brought water, and grandpa brought his overswelled with joy heart. you see, grandpa gordon used to play baseball in his younger days, and always hoped that he would have a boy that would also play. but alas, none of his 3 boys, nor neither of his 2 girls ever wanted to play baseball! so you can immagine the joy and excitement and pride he must have felt watching the apple of his eye play in her very first game! he cheered louder than anyone when she stole home plate for the win! (actually, nobody was keeping score, but if they were that would have been the winning run) OH IT WAS A SIGHT TO SEE! the laughs weren't too bad either! IT WAS GREAT! GO IOWA CUBS LUCKY #7!!!!!!
